Biography

Adam graduated summa cum laude, in the top 3 of his class, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2014. He clerked for the Honorable Judge Linda Vanzi at the New Mexico Court of Appeals for two years and then worked at an exclusively civil rights law firm to vindicate the rights of New Mexicans who had been victimized by police misconduct and other profound abuses by state and federal governments.

At Ives & Flores, Adam's passion is to litigate the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures and excessive force. He's worked to ensure that jails and prisons have constitutionally adequate conditions of confinement, that state and local agencies comply with the First Amendment and with public records laws of the State of New Mexico, that the heinous practice of civil asset forfeiture is curbed by due process, and that victims of sexual abuse at school and in the workplace are entitled to redress. Adam has been involved in multi-party litigation, class-actions, consent decrees and institutional reform, First Amendment defamation defense, and has written appellate briefs and argued cases on appeal asserting the rights of loss of consortium claimants, public records requestors, and victims of police brutality. In 2020, Adam was awarded the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government's First Amendment Freedom Award for his litigation extending public access to police records during ongoing investigations.
